창의융합연구소의 상을 받게 되어 대단히 영광입니다. 이번 연구를 통해 사용자 경험 디자인 과정 중 사용자의 니즈에 대해 진지하게 고민해보고 연구해볼 수 있는 시간을 가질 수 있어서 좋은 경험이 되었습니다. 앞으로 더욱 발전된 연구를 통해 사용자 경험 디자인 분야 발전에 기여하도록 하겠습니다. 저를 지도해주신 이지선 교수님께 감사의 말씀 드립니다. 감사합니다.

애자일 방법론을 이용한 사용자 멘탈모델 연구 유아 영양 식단 구성 앱을 중심으로
초록
본 연구는 사용자가 과업을 진행하는 상황에서 이루고자 하는 목적이 다양하여 니즈가 복합적으로 존재할 때, 최적의 사용자 경험 디자인을 효율적으로 설계하기 위해 사용자 멘탈모델 이론과 애자일 프로세스를 융합한 디자인 방법론을 제안한다. 이를 위해 사용자 분석 방법론에 대한 문헌조사를 진행하였고, 사용자 멘탈모델의 효과를 파악하였다. 사용자의 니즈가 복합적으로 존재하는 상황인 ‘유아 영양 균형 식단 구성’에 초점을 맞추어 사용자 멘탈모델을 설계하였다. 개발된 멘탈모델을 바탕으로 앱의 프로토타입을 제작하고 애자일 방법론을 융합하여 반복적인 평가와 수정 과정을 거쳐 사용자 멘탈모델을 정교하게 반영한 UX 디자인을 완성하였고 그 효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사용자의 니즈가 복합적으로 존재하는 경우, 사용자 멘탈모델 구축을 통해 추측을 배제하고 정확한 사용자 태스크를 설계함으로써 디자인 방향성을 명확하게 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 애자일 방법론을 활용한 UX 디자인 개발을 통해서 사용자 멘탈모델과 구체적으로 일치하는 사용자 경험 디자인을 완성하였다. 셋째, 사용자의 니즈가 복합적인 UX 디자인 개발에 있어, 사용자 멘탈모델과 애자일 방법론을 융합한 디자인 방법론을 통해 디자인의 완성도는 높이고 개발 시간은 절약할 수 있었다. 이 방법이 사용자의 니즈와 태스크가 복합적인 다양한 주제의 UX 디자인 개발 과정에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study proposes a design methodology that combines user mental model and agile process to efficiently design optimal user experience when users have various needs due to various purposes that they want to achieve in the situation of task. To this end, a literature survey on the user analysis methodology was conducted, and the effect of the user mental model was identified. The user mental model was designed with a focus on the ‘composition of an infant nutrition balanced diet’, a situation in which user needs exist in combination. Based on the designed mental model, a prototype of the app was created and the agile process was fused to complete user experience design that elaborately reflected the user mental model through repeated evaluation and developing processes, and the effects are as follows. First, when user needs exist in combination, the design direction could be clarified by excluding speculation and designing accurate user tasks through the user mental model. Second, through the development of UX design using the agile process, a user experience design that specifically matches the user mental model was completed. Third, in the development of UX designs with complex user needs, the design methodology that combines the user mental model and the agile process could increase the completeness of the design and save time. It is hoped that this methodology will help the UX design development process of various topics in which user needs and tasks are complex.
